Intel SE7230NHQ MB -- checking on correct settings

Postby mkc451 » Wed Oct 11, 2006 4:13 pm

I am trying to make sure I am monitoring the correct temp & fan settings on my Intel Server motherboard. The fan readings show 2 cpu fans, only one cpu though and speeds don't change even though I can hear the fan speed up. Am I missing something in the config? The supported Motherboard list shows Intel SE7230 boards supported but not this exact one.. :?:
The system in running 4 SATA drives mirrored with a fan blowing across them in a Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case.

Temps also don't jive with what I see in the bios hw monitor. The report is below:

Hmonitor Version 4.2.5.3 Pro
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Board model: SE7230NH1
Main Sensor: EMC6D10x
Monitored data values:
Mainboard=30.0°C (0,N/A,0.0°C)
CPU1=46.0°C (1,N/A,0.0°C)
Power=40.0°C (0,N/A,0.0°C)
Chassis=1064 rpm
CPU1=633 rpm
CPU2=622 rpm

We have done some tests together with the author of this post, and identified correct sensors assignment for Intel SE7230NHQ board:

1st temp - System/Mainboard;
2nd temp - CPU;
3rd temp - Chipset/Northbridge;
1st fan - CPU;
others - chassis or so.
